Dr. Yu’s research focuses on benign urological diseases. His group seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying diseases such as overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, and ketamine cystitis. They use integrative approaches including molecular, cellular, and genetically modified animal models to address these questions. Current research activities include purinergic regulation of bladder motility, bladder epithelial mechanosensory function, and molecular mechanism of ketamine cystitis.
